Ms. Marion Mayman (WZO)

Committee Member

Marion (Blonder) Mayman was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia.  She is married to Shlomo and together they have 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 5 grandchildren.  In 1957 she and her husband made aliyah to Israel, where they lived for 5 years.  They now live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

 

Presently Marion is President of MERCAZ-Canada, Vice President of MERCAZ Olami, member of the General Assembly of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ), member of the WZO Vaad Ha’Poel, Chair of the Speakers Bureau of the Israel Commission of USCJ, and Treasurer of JNF (KKL) Toronto.  She also sits on the Boards of the Canadian Zionist Federation (CZF) and the Canadian Foundation for Masorti Judaism.

 

In the past Marion has been National President of Canadian Hadassah-WIZO, President of Agudath Israel Congregation (Ottawa), President of Agudath Israel Sisterhood, President of JNF (KKL) Ottawa and a member of the National Board of JNF (KKL) Canada.

 

Marion has also served as the Campaign Manager for a Member of the Canadian Parliament, as the Elections Canada Returning Officer for her constituency and as a member of the Premier’s Advisory Council on Multiculturalism and Citizenship (Ontario).  In 1992 she was awarded the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation by the Governor General of Canada.

 

She was appointed as a Committee Member in June 2011.
