Menno Paktor was born in 1946 into a family of diamond merchants. He studied Economics at the University of Amsterdam, receiving a Master’s degree. While at University, he met his future wife, who came from a family with an active Keren Hayesod background. Menno Paktor worked in banking for a few years, but was soon asked to join his family textile trading business.
Mr. Paktor served as treasurer and later as chairman of the Amsterdam Jewish community. Other positions he has held include treasurer of Jewish Social Work and treasurer of the Jewish umbrella organization– the Organization of the Dutch Jewish Communities.
Mr. Paktor has been associated with Keren Hayesod Holland ever since his wife, Louis, served on its Board. When she resigned, he was asked to become Chairman, a position he has held since 1997. Menno is also a member of the KH Board of Trustees, and Chairman of the its Comptrollers' Committee.
Menno Paktor has been a member of the Board of Governors since February 2004. Prior to that he served from 1998 as an Assembly member serving on Board committees.
