Michael Siegal is the current chair of the JFNA Board of Trustees.
Siegal was the board chair of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and has held many leadership positions in his community. Most recently, he served as chair of the Federation’s 2009 and 2010 Annual Campaigns, which raised a total of over $56.5 million during his two-year term. In 1989, Siegal received the Edwin M. Weiner Young Campaigner of the Year Award for his leadership. Siegal is a current member of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) board.
Siegal is the chairman and CEO of Olympic Steel, directing the company since 1984, when he was named president. He led Olympic Steel's national public offering, and has grown its revenues to more than $1 billion. Siegal received his B.S. from Miami University, and has earned numerous business awards including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Metal Center News’ Steel Man of the Year and Inside Business’ Northeast Ohio Business Hall of Fame.
Siegal is a former national Chair of the Board of Israel Bonds (the "Development Corporation for Israel") and continues to serve as a member of their national Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Siegal also serves on the Board of Directors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
He is a Board member since October 2012.
