Sondra Sokal is the immediate Past President of AMIT. She has been President of AMIT since 1999, having previously served as Treasurer and Vice-President. Currently she serves as President of the Young Israel of West Hempstead and she is an Officer and Member of the Cabinet of the American Zionist Movement.

A graduate of City University of New York, she has conducted research on various aspects of public health policy.  She is Sisterhood President of Young Israel of West Hempstead.

Sondra Sokal has beeen a member of the Jewish Agency’s Board of Governors since June 2002. She is the Chair of the B&F Subcommittee on Support and Operational Functions.
