Aliyah Fair: Getting a Taste for Israel

April 26, 2010

by Derek Cling, Arutz Sheva TV

(Israelnationalnewscom) This past weekend, MASA in conjunction with the Jewish Agency for Israel, hosted its 2nd Annual Aliyah Shabbaton, which took place at the Judean Youth Hostel in Jerusalem. The event was attended by approximately 200 MASA participants from all around the world who are currently working, studying, and volunteering on one of MASA's long-term programs, and are interested in living in Israel on a more permanent basis.

The Shabbaton created a venue where recent "olim" (new immigrants), representatives from the Jewish Agency and different Aliyah absorption and support centers were able to interact with potential olim and offer them services and guidance during their process of Aliyah.

The Shabbaton was packed with lectures from different professionals working in the field of Aliyah absorption, and workshops where the participants had the opportunity to voice their questions and concerns regarding the Aliyah process, This video was taken during the Shabbaton's Aliyah Fair, where booths were set up by different organizations helping to integrate new olim into Israeli society.
