Some 2,000 new immigrants from throughout the Negev attended a Jewish Agency-sponsored employment fair in Beersheva, December 3.

More significantly, 250 job seekers landed jobs with participating companies as a result of the fair, according to our employment coordinator in the region, Meir Luptinsky. The new employees are already scheduled to begin their new jobs this month.

Among the new placements are a maritime engineer and a nuclear engineer, both of whom will work at the Israel Aircraft Industry’s Ramta Facility in Beersheva.

Participating companies and small businesses represented a broad spectrum, spanning the construction, chemical, hotel, electronics, services, and printing industries.

The Jewish Agency is pleased to acknowledge its co-sponsors in this effort: The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption and the Government Employment Service.

We are proud of our ongoing efforts to help new immigrants--whom we have helped bring to Israel through your support--lead independent and productive lives as citizens of the State of Israel.
