Jewish Agency Launches Information Campaign in Jewish Communities around the World, with Solidarity Rallies and Demonstrations against Terror

March 9, 2008 / 2 Adar II 5768

Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Zeev Bielski, in special letter to heads of Jewish communities and organizations around the world:
"We must spread the word of this horrible terror attack to every corner of the world and widen the circle of support of the State of Israel and the solidarity with its continuing struggle against terror"

Following the murderous attack at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem in which eight youths were killed and dozens wounded, the Jewish Agency has begun a comprehensive public relations campaign in Jewish communities around the world, in coordination with the National Information Headquarters of the Prime Minister's Office and the Foreign Ministry.

A special information kit, including photos of the attack, banners and stickers, will be sent to the hundreds of emissaries of the Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organization around the world as well as to heads of Jewish organizations, student organizations, youth movements, Zionist Federations, synagogues of the various streams, etc.

In his special letter, which will be distributed alongside the kit, Jewish Agency Chairman Zeev Bielski calls on leaders of Jewish communities and Jewish organizations to hold solidarity rallies with the State of Israel and mass prayer gatherings in memory of those killed in the attack and for the health of the injured, as well as demonstrations opposite embassies of Iran as a supporter of Hamas terrorism.

"At this hour, it is our duty to come together as one and spread the word of this horrible terror attack to every corner of the world, in order to widen the circle of support of the State of Israel and the solidarity with its continuing struggle against terror", wrote Bielski in his letter to heads of Jewish organizations.

Chairman of the Jewish Agency's Education Committee, Amos Hermon, who is responsible for Information in the Jewish Agency, says that the information efforts will take place among hundreds of thousands of Jews around the world as well as non-Jewish organizations who support the State of Israel.  In parallel, the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization will hold and co-sponsor rallies around the world.  The Jewish Agency will also instruct its hundreds of emissaries around the world to hold educational activities among hundreds of thousands of children, youths and students.
