Approximately 1,000 new immigrants from Ethiopia who have arrived in Israel since the recent Israeli government decision to bring the remaining Falash Mura to Israel, marked their first Passover in the country.

5,500 new immigrants in absorption centers around the country participate in seders organized by the Jewish Agency for Israel and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

A model seder took place on Thursday, April 14th at 10:30am at the Jewish Agency's Mevasseret Zion Absorption Center, with the participation of the Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Natan Sharansky, President of IFCJ Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein and the Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver.

On Thursday April 14th at 10:30 am, a model seder initiated by the Jewish Agency for Israel and IFCJ was held for new immigrants at the  Jewish Agency`s Mevasseret Zion absorption center.   Approximately 100 new immigrants marked their first Passover in Israel after waiting a
long time in Ethiopia for their aliyah.

Participating in the model seder: Chairman of the Jewish Agency Executive, Natan Sharansky, President  of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein and the Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver.  The new immigrants sat around Pesach tables, learned holiday customs and sang the traditional Ma Nishtana and other holiday songs.

5,500 new immigrants from Ethiopia celebrated the seder together at large events organized by the Jewish Agency and the IFCJ in 16 absorption centers around the county.  Approximately 1,000 of them have come to Israel recently following the Israeli government decision to bring the remainder of
the Falash Mura community to Israel.
