Kibbutzim Seminar in Safed

January 2, 2006 / 2 Tevet, 5766

Students at the Kibbutzim Seminar in Tel Aviv decided to do something to help new immigrants. With the assistance of Mrs. Sara Cohen of Safed and Mrs. Ellen Feder of Hertzeliya, they arrived at the door of the Jewish Agency's I.D.F. Absorption Center 9.

On Friday, with the donation of the site by the Ari School, the remarkable program – the likes of which has not been seen in Safed in years – began.  The students came dressed as clowns and began a mass dance in which 300 recent immigrant children participated.  After the dance, ten booths were opened with games that allowed the children to earn special prizes.  Towards the end of the program, Sara and Ellen distributed all the toys that they had donated to the children.  Special thanks to Adi for her hard work and effort in ensuring the program's success.  As the song goes, "There are good people along the road," who exert themselves to help in the process of immigrant absorption.
