On November 13th, the Chicago Community Mission visited the Beit Canada Absorption Center in Jerusalem.
The mission was hosted by Daniel Tuksar of the Jewish Agency’s Mission Unit. After receiving general information on aliyah, absorption, and Jewish Agency activities in absorption centers, the mission participants met with new immigrants from New Zealand, the USA ,and France who shared their personal stories with the mission.

Afterwards, the mission toured the facility, visiting an apartment, synagogue, ulpan class and the computer room.
The mission also prepared gift packages together with the new immigrants for IDF lone soldiers. Paratrooper Yehuda Werdesheim, a new immigrant from USA who participated in the recent war in Lebanon, shared his personal story with the group. The packages were given to Yehuda to take back to his army base and share with his friends in the unit.
Joining the group were Nitzan Barak, Katya Shavit, and Revital Katz.
