620 Thousand Dollars Granted to Families of Soldiers Killed in Lebanon

November 23, 2006 / 2 Kislev 5767

The Jewish Agency for Israel, in cooperation with the  American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee are granting 620 thousand dollars toward families of soldiers killed in Lebanon.

The grant is intended to provide families with a way to memorialize their loved ones or for whatever they wish.

The donation was given by anonymous donors.

In order to make this project a success, the Jewish Agency was in contact with the Defense Ministry, IDF senior personnel, rehabilitation workers dealing with the families, and with the family themselves.

124 families received the grants.

Among these families are a mix of veteran immigrants, FSU and Ethiopian immigrants, Druze and Bedouin families, a family from the United States whose son was a lone soldier and more.
