Leonid Padrul and Yaakov Bloch, two new immigrants from the FSU, received praise and recognition, after their 12 pictures were selected among 5,000 pictures that were submitted to an international competition run by RTR PLANET, an international Russian language channel. The pictures of the two photographers, showing scenes from Israel, will be publicized in the Russian speaking world.

Leonid Padrul, whose pictures were shown in the past on the Jewish Agency website, told the site:

"I’m pleased to announce that the international Russian language channel staged a photo competition and out of 5,000 pictures submitted worldwide they selected 12 photos, including my picture of the Dead Sea.  The selected pictures will be displayed in a calendar that will be circulated worldwide."
