As a Result of the Deteriorating Security Situation in Southern Israel:
The Jewish Agency is Providing up to 4,000 NIS in Immediate Aid to Every Family Affected by Kassam Rocket Attacks

December 30, 2008 / 3 Tevet 5769

The total sum of financial aid will amount to over 2 million shekels.

The Jewish Agency calls upon residents of Southern Israel affected by Kassam rocket attacks to contact the special fund established to receive immediate financial aid.

To receive assistance, please call 1-800-200-183.

During this period of escalating unrest and renewed rocket attacks upon Southern Israeli towns, the Jewish Agency invites residents affected by the Kassam attacks to receive immediate financial aid in amounts of up to 4,000 NIS.  The grant is given by the Fund for Kassam Victims established by the Jewish Agency’s Fund for Victims of Terror, which has allocated over 2 million shekels for immediate financial aid for victims.  Jewish Agency representatives observed the need of the families affected by the Kassam attacks for immediate assistance, without waiting for help from the official government agencies.

Every eligible family will immediately receive up to 4,000 NIS for the purchase of food and medical supplies, replacement of damaged possessions, and so on.

The grant will be given immediately for the family’s personal needs which are not provided for by the other agencies responsible for Kassam victims.

Jewish Agency representatives in Southern Israel arrive at the families’ homes immediately following an attack to assess their various needs so that they can receive the appropriate aid.

The Jewish Agency’s Fund for Victims of Terror was established by the Israel Emergency Fund of the United Jewish Communities and has been supported by Jewish federations, Keren Hayesod communities, foundations and individuals.

We ask the media to help us by announcing the phone number for families to call to receive assistance.  The number is: 1-800-200-183.
