Over 150,000 shekels were disbursed from the Jewish Agency Fund for Victims of Terror to 41 victims, most of them from the battle zone in Southern Israel.
Following are details of actions by the SOS Emergency Fund and by the Fund for Victims of Terror as of January 5, 2009:
- The SOS Emergency Fund received over 130 applications for aid through its Jerusalem-based hotline in the past 24 hours.
- Since December 24, 2008, 41 applications for aid have been approved, amounting in total to 151,200 shekels.
- The outlook is for at least 5 more applications to be received today. This figure could change as events unfold.
- The Fund for Victims of Terror, through its professional committee, approved about 750,000 shekels in fulfillment of 80 applications, of which about 65 originated in Sderot and other Gaza perimeter communities.
