Joseph Wurzelbacher, commonly know as Joe the Plumber, visited the Jewish Agency Kalanit Absorption Center in Ashkelon on Monday, January 12th, as part of a several day tour in Israel to report on the situation in the south for the website, PajamasTV.com.
Wurzelbacher toured the absorption center, which had suffered damage from a Katyusha rocket, and met with a group of young immigrants from the former Soviet Union and South America.
The Kalanit Absorption Center is home to some 200 new immigrants, ages 17 to 30 from around the world who are learning Hebrew or pursuing academic degrees.
