What does the program include?
The first year is divided into two periods:
• The first six months include an intensive Hebrew ulpan. Parents learn Hebrew in a regional ulpan, five mornings a week and the children learn full day in the kibbutz schools. (Kindergartens are open 07:00-16:00 throughout the year, including on Jewish holidays and the summer vacation). During the ulpan families participate in seminars and trips around the country.
• In the second half of the year families may choose to extend their stay for an additional six months, with the approval of the Program coordinators. This time is intended mainly for finding work and/or participating in vocational courses, or for those leaving kibbutz for preparation and organization. Aliyah coordinators from the kibbutz and the regional council assist the families throughout this process.
• After this time families are given the option of staying on the kibbutz or in the region, as kibbutz members or residents, or of joining community neighborhoods.
