Machon Lev – Jerusalem Institute of Technology

Yeshivat HaKotel – The Wohl Torah Center

  • Located in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, Jerusalem
  • Israelis & international students study together for a year, with the option of a second year
  • Aligned with the Religious Zionist movement & consistent with the Bnei Akiva philosophy
  • Students are placed in shiurim commensurate with their individual backgrounds and proficiencies
  • It is also a hesder yeshiva for those serving in the Israeli Defence Forces
  • Language of instruction is Hebrew/English depending on familiarity with the language
  • Accommodation is provided in the dormitory of Yeshivat HaKotel and three meals, laundry service and medical coverage are included in tuition.
  • Tours are integral in the program and extra-curricular activities are offered.
  • Scholarships are available on a need-based basis.
  • Recognized college credit bearing program associated with the Joint Israel Program of Yeshiva University. Other selected universities offer full or partial credit for work completed.

Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies

  • Beginners and intermediate levels of study for ages 20 and older

Aish HaTorah: Intermediate Yeshiva Program

  • The year is divided into three semesters: August-December, January-March, April-July
  • Tuition, including full room and board is $9,600 per year, (that is $3,200 per semester)
  • Scholarships available.
  • The student body consists of men primarily between the ages of 18 - 30, with a college background.

Beit Midrash L’Torah (BMT)

  • Designed for Diaspora students age 17 and over with an Orthodox religious commitment and whom are Yeshiva High School graduates
  • Basic level of Hebrew required

Yeshivat Hamivtar-Orot Lev/Brovenders

  • Religious educational background and commitment required

Aish HaTorah: Beis Midrash Program

There are two related programs:

1. Beis HaMidrash Program

  • An intensive, full day of learning for young Jewish men with existing basic skills in Yeshiva learning. The program includes B'iyun and B'kiyus Gemara, advanced Chumash, Mussar, and Hashkafa, and a thorough Halacha component.
  • Special attention is paid to creating an individualized study program that meets the specific needs and interests of the student. Independent study options are available. (For men between the ages of 20-30.)

2. ROLP - the Rabbinic Ordination/Leadership Program.

  • If your learning skills are strong, and you're ready to take the plunge into the world of Jewish leadership. The two-year program is composed of an intensive learning segment (Issur v'heter, Hashkafa, Practical Rabbinics, etc.), and a leadership segment which includes teaching, public speaking, fundraising, counselling, etc. For men between the ages of 22-32
  • A Kollel stipend is available for married participants in either program, with an extra amount for ROLP participants.
  • programs, classrooms, and dormitories throughout the entire Jewish Quarter of the Old City and other areas of Jerusalem. Aish HaTorah's centerpiece, our new World Center and Beis Midrash, is located opposite the Western Wall.

Yeshivat Har Etzion

  • The largest of the hesder yeshivot with over 500 students.
  • Combination of army service with yeshiva study in a five-year program
  • Over 130 students from abroad
  • The daily schedule is centered around the study of Gemara, while there are opportunities to also study other areas of Torah
  • All lessons are in Hebrew, although assistance from Rabbanim and other students is available
  • An exam is given, upon arrival, and students are placed in one of three lessons specifically designed for overseas students
  • There are numerous trips and shabbatonim around Israel and students are encouraged to get involved in volunteer work
  • 2-3 person rooms, three meals a day
  • Located in Alon Shvut, approximately 10 miles south of Jerusalem, close to the city of Efrat, which forms the core of Gush Etzion

Essentials: Yeshivat Aish HaTorah

  • For young men ages 18-35
  • Aish HaTorah's introductory program, Essentials, is the perfect start for a spiritual quest.
  • Drop in for one class, a day, a week, or a month.
  • Classes are held in Aish HaTorah's new building directly opposite the Western Wall.
  • Essentials presents both the mystical and the rational approach to Judaism. Teachers include Rabbi Noah Weinberg (Dean of Aish HaTorah), Dr. Gerald Schroeder (MIT physicist and former member of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission), and other leading experts on Jewish thought and practice.

Machal Hesder

  • Machal Hesder is an Army program intended for religious students who wish to serve in a special framework.
  • The length of the program is 21 months, serving in regular Hesder units.
  • Eligibility:
    • Men between the ages of 18-21 inclusive (there is a precedent for age extension until 22,   on an individual basis).
    • Previous study in Israel in some yeshiva framework for one academic year after age 17.
    • Living in Israel without parents
    • Non-Israeli citizens
  • Track:
    • 9 months of straight army service
    • 12 months of study in Yeshiva under the Hesder program in a military framework
