Changes on Luggage Weight Allowance

Upon the signing of a new contract between the Jewish Agency and El AL there has been a change regarding the permitted luggage weight. This applies to those who have been granted Jewish Agency flight tickets from Western countries. The changes went into effect on May 8, 2007.

The new regulations are as follows:

  • Regular Luggage
Luggage up to 60 kilograms; or 3 suitcases of up to 23 kilograms each from the USA – will be taken free of charge.
  • Overweight Luggage
For the transportation of up to 50 kilograms of additional weight over and above the regular luggage allowance, there will be a charge of $5 per kilogram.
