
Israel Centre Director and head of Mishlahat: Shimon Shamila
Shimon and his family arrived mid December, 2009 in South Africa to take up his shlichut as Director of the Israel Centre. Shimon has been on shlichut all around the globe including America and the UK. After finishing his military service in the Golani brigade (Shimon is now a Captain in the IDF Reserve forces), he has managed non-profitable organisations including a charity NGO providing education and nourishment for needy families in the Negev and fundraising for an NGO assisting Ethiopian Olim. Shimon spent the last four years as a director of the Partnership 2000 Project in the eastern Negev working together with Jewish organisations in New Jersey and Delaware.
Executive Administrator: Debbie Hurwitz
Debbie is the Executive Administrator to the Israel Centre Director Aliyah Shaliach. She has been with the organization for 5 years and is passionate about Eretz Israel. For any appointments/bookings to do with matters concerning Israel Centre and specifically booking your one-on-one with the Shaliach – Debbie is your girl! Debbie is the proud mother of three awesome children and the grandmother of baby Tiferes.
Aliyah Assistant: Sue Resnick
Sue Resnick is one of the Aliyah Agents at the Israel centre in Johannesburg. She works closely with the olim, giving each one her personal attention and tries to help them make the best choices for their Aliyah, Sue is passionate about her work and derives such joy when she hears that the olim are happy and have made a successful Aliyah. She is married and has a son of 27 and a daughter of 24.
Educational Projects: Tanya Izaki
Tanya Izaki is the Educational projects Coordinator at the Israel Centre. She’s been with the organization for over a year coordinating projects such as the Israel Encounter tour, Bible Quiz, Israeli High Education Expo as well as offering different volunteer programs in Israel through MASA or the Jewish Agency etc. She is very patient and caring. Tanya loves assisting anyone who wants to experience Israel.Tanya is married and a mother of 3 cuties (2 sons and a daughter).
Partnership 2Gether (P2G): Eli Rudolph
Eli Rudolph is the National Director of Partnership 2Gether. She has been in this position since 2006 but has been involved professionally in the community since 2003 having worked previously in the South Africa Union of Jewish Students and the South African Jewish Board of Deputies. Eli loves organising and thrives when she has groups visiting from Israel – that way she gets to show off our incredibly unique community and beautiful country. She loves Israel and that’s why Partnership 2Gether is the perfect organisation for her to be involved with – she gets to directly connect Israel with our South African Jewish Community every single day. She is also very passionate about Holocaust remembrance and has organised a number of March of the Living tours. Eli is married and has two delicious baby girls.
Hagshama: Robbie Cohen
Robbie Cohen is the Johannesburg Hagshama Coordinator and has been with the organisation for almost two years now. Robbie has done remarkable activities ranging from; army days, Israeli movie nights, advocacy weekends, leadership seminar as well as charity events, just to mention a few. Robbie is very patient, caring, and helpful. Robbie is 25 years old and he loves living life.
