The spirit of Zionism, the tools of leadership and the excitement of social change are what defines Alei Tzameret, a program for Zionist lay leadership run jointly by the Aliyah and Klitah Department and the Zionist Council. This past November, 40 hand- picked participants started their training program, being challenged in workshops on Zionism and Judaism; leadership and personal empowerment; and volunteering for the benefit of Israeli society. As part of the program, participants learn about Jewish Agency activities and are trained to become involved in Departmental volunteer programs, such as "At Home–Together".
In the midst of its sixth session, the program has already sent over three hundred enthusiastic and knowledgeable messengers of goodwill into the field, thereby strengthening ties with Israeli society and contributing to the Jewish Agency's goals.
