
For four years, Gilad Shalit has been held hostage. It is believed he is being held somehwere in Southern Gaza. Since his capture, his parents have received three handwritten letters from him.
The International Red Cross has been denied access to Gilad, and his exact whereabouts and physical conditions are unknown. On August 28th, Gilad will turn 24 years old.
According to the Geneva Convention (1949), every prisoner of war is entitled to be visited by representatives of the International Red Cross (IRC).
