Mr. Yechezkel Zakai was born in Kurdistan in 1932 and made Aliyah to Israel on 1950. Since 1955 he is a member of Moshav Ora, cooperative Israeli settlement. Mr. Zakai was always active in Moshavim Movement and served as a social guide, general guide and Director of the organization for regional cooperation. In the 70's, the organization established, with his assistance, 12 regional factories.

In 1974, after receiving the "Kaplan" Prize for improvement and organization, Mr. Zakai was elected as the Deputy Secretary General of the Moshavim Movement. In 1977 in the "Maarach" list of candidate to the Knesset and was a member of the 9th and 10th Knesset. Later, he served as the Director General of "Mekorot" and Chairman of "Agrexco".

Yechezkel Zakai serves as the Chairman of the Sepharadi Federation in Israel since 1978 and from 1990 he is also the Chairman of Vaad Adath Hasepharadim and Oriental Jewry.

Mr. Zakai is a Committee Member since 2002. Prior to that he served as a Board Member.
