Mr. Avi Naor (WZO)

Board Member

Avi Naor was born in Haifa on 1948, and grew up in Kiryat Tiv’on. Avi is married to Eti, mother of their son Eyal. His children from previous marriage are Meirav, Guy and Ran, who was killed in a road accident on June 12, 1995, when he was almost 20 years of age.

 

Avi served in the Israeli army, and holds a BSC degree in computer sciences from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. In 1976 he joined the Aurec Group, and in 1982 was a member of the team that founded Amdocs, a public billing and CRM Software Company traded on the NYSE.

 

In 1995, Avi Naor was appointed President and CEO of Amdocs. In 1998 he led the Amdocs IPO on the NYSE, and subsequently headed major acquisitions and secondary offerings.

 

In 2002, the year Avi left Amdocs to be able to devote himself to his voluntary work, Amdocs’ sales reached $1.6 BN, and the company was employing 10,000 employees around the globe.

 

Avi Naor is involved in voluntary activity for the community in two main fields:

·          As Chairman of Or-Yarok association for safer driving in Israel, he is deeply involved in the battle against road accidents, and heads major projects on national scale.

·          The Oran foundation was established by Eti & Avi Naor in 2002, for the purpose of advancing children and youth in distress. As part of this mission, the Oran Foundation supports several projects, centers and villages for youth at risk. 

 

Avi Naor is a member of the Board since June 2004. He served as the Co-Chair of the Youth Futures subcommittee and now Co-Chairs the Young Communities Subcommittee.
