June Walker is the National President of Hadassah. She previously served as Treasurer and member of Hadassah’s National Board and Executive Committee. She also served as National Vice President and National Chairman of Hadassah College Jerusalem, which during her tenure grew from 600 to 1000 students, and reached a status of a fully accredited academic institution.
Ms. Walker chaired the American Affairs Department. In this capacity, she launched educational programs on the radical right and healthcare, brought curriculum watch into reality, developed national participation in two marches in Washington for women’s rights, and conceived and wrote “The American Scene”. Her various initiatives led to the development of the Washington Action Office and to a fully staffed Department of Women’s Health.
Ms. Walker promoted a women’s health initiative with Hadassah Israel, the Israeli Ministry of Health, the Israeli Health Network and American Physicians for Israel.
Ms. Walker’s academic degrees are in chemistry, respiratory therapy, and public health administration. Professionally, she is a respiratory therapist. June is a member of the Citizens Committee for Bio-Medical Ethics, The American Lung Association, and Congregation Beth Hatikvah.
June Walker has been a Member of the Board of Governors since October 2003.
