The World Zionist Organization approved a new platform.
At its annual conference in Jerusalem, the WZO updated its Jerusalem Program, the Zionist tenets on which the institution rests, which first were passed in 1951. Among other things, the new six-point program calls for "strengthening Israel as a Jewish, Zionist and democratic state," "the unity of the Jewish people" and the "centrality of the State of Israel and Jerusalem, its capital."
