North American immigrants to Israel reportedly heckled an Israeli Cabinet minister who met them when they arrived in the Jewish state.

August 17, 2005

The immigrants harassed Ehud Olmert on Wednesday because of the Israeli government’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the Jerusalem Post reported. The incident came as the 250 immigrants arrived at Ben-Gurion Airport in the latest wave of what officials predict will be the largest number of immigrants to Israel from North America since 1983.

The flight was sponsored by Nefesh b’Nefesh and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
