Born in Israel, in Kvutzat Sharon, currently known as Kibbutz Ramat David, in 1946.

Raised and educated until the age of 18 in Kibbutz Yifat.

Served in the military naval commando.

Rank of Captain in military reserve duty.

  • Chairman of a Central Guarantee Fund for the Collective Kibbutz Movement.
  • Partner in Yehuda Raveh & Co. Law Offices and Manager of the firm’s Haifa Office.
2001-
  • Chairman of Palgei Mayim Ltd., a waste water treatment company.
  • Member of the Labor party.
2002-2003
  • Chairman of the Industrial Cooperation Authority within the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor.
2000-2004
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors of four Kibbutzim
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors of an industrial factory for the production of Bandaging products.
1999-
  • Started a legal and commercial promotion firm.
  • Strategic and legal advisor to three academic colleges.
1999
  • Retired from the Knesset having served three terms.
1988
  • Elected to the Knesset – the Israeli Parliament – in 1988.
  • Knesset member on behalf of the Labor party in the following capacities:
    • Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee from 1988 to 1992
    • Chairman of the Knesset Committee from 1992 to 1995
    • Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee from 1995 to 1996.
  • Knesset representative in NATO’s parliamentary organization.
  • Served 5 years as Co-Chairman of the Friendship Society of the SPD in Germany & the Israeli Labor Party.     
1985-1988
  • General Secretary of Israel’s largest youth movement – Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed
1982-1985
  • High Court Judge of the General Federation of Labor
1980-1985 Attorney in the private law firm of “Meirom and Kenneth".
1978 Granted a degree in Law from the Tel Aviv University
1971-1973 Employment and services coordinator at Kibbutz Yifat.

Married to Malka and father of Sagi, Maya, and Maccabi
