“Immigration can be so difficult and sometimes you feel so alone, but living at the Jewish Agency’s Ulpan Etzion Absorption Center was like having family in Israel. There were people there to help, teach and encourage us. We had all the resources we needed to make our aliyah easier.”
When Lucas Lejderman, 25, immigrated to Israel from the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre this past year, he fulfi lled a lifelong dream. “All of my life I wanted to come to Israel and do something meaningful here. I want to contribute to Israeli society in any way that I can,” he says with enthusiasm.
