General Recommendations & Remarks
- B2B is a new, dynamic and vital "platform" to engage non affiliated Jewish business people with Federation activities and strengthening their connection with Israel.
- B2B should engage thousands of people around the world not exclusively Jewish
- B2B should be appealing to the younger generation (25 and up) and to small/ medium businesses. Excellent opportunity for exposure which should be broad in scope but focused in order to be effective.
- The energies and resources of the network of world-wide Jewish leaders have been largely channeled to philanthropy. At the same time, 90% of investment in Israel is by non-Jews. We should seek to change this in the direction of having more Jewish leaders become active in business investments in Israel.
- Great investors are also often philanthropists. When we're doing B2B we need to be very clear – this is first about investment.
- Innovations centers in Israel can be very attractive to businesses abroad.
- Maximize potential opportunities for regional cooperation via national coordination of communication.
- Government of Israel should develop and offer more tax based opportunities
- B2B helps develop the region in Israel, while also adding a dimension to P2P activities.
- Use of other conferences/businesses/ tourism/ in the periphery as platforms for bringing delegates to B2B.
- Pre-conference delegations should be arranged both in Diaspora and Israel to strengthen connections and to turn conferences into action events as opposed to first time meetings.
Why should the federation system should invest in this ? Federations are trying to raise money – how can this program help federations?
- B2B transforms the perception of Israel from being a “troubled region” into that of a valued asset for your Jewish community's economic growth
- Positions the Federation as the bridge to an Israel that is an engine for your community's prosperity
- Compliments your vibrant P2K partnership by creating more exchanges and by bringing to your community talented and professional Israelis who will instill pride in Israel.
- Include them in your JCC, day schools, camps and synagogues;
- Leverage them for P2K and Israel business connections
- Create exciting new international business “volunteer opportunities” that makes Federation a more attractive gateway for successful Jewish and non-Jewish professionals
- B2B provides a platform for members of your community and region to benefit from the entrepreneurship that is expanding the Israeli economy.
- Federation should connect local needs to Israel.
- Creation of a separate B2B committee within the partnership/federation system that will focus on advancing B2B and non-philanthropic ventures in Israel.
- Career Israel: 150 young professionals on internships in Israel – and excellent way nearly to engage birthright (Taglit) graduates
