A Partnership 2000 retreat that was held immediately following the GA, attended by 70 lay leaders, federation directors and partnership professionals, discussed a new vision for direct relations between the Jewish world and Israel, on the level of community twinning, and one-on-one and interest group connections.
The retreat was the culmination of a year-long process in Israel of re-visioning the role of P2K. The discussions developed as a revised vision to guide the program’s activities, “A global Jewish people made up of a rich tapestry of strong, vital flourishing, interconnected Jewish individuals, families and communities which enriches Jewish continuity and identity with Israel at its heart.”
The P2K staff is already working to translate the vision into formative changes on the ground, and the revised vision will be presented to the Board of Governors in February.
