A 14-member delegation, headed by Danny Atar, the Mayor of the Gilboa, came from Afula/Gilboa to visit their Partnership 2000 counterparts in SNEC, the Southern New England Consortium from November 10 through November 14. They visited Jewish communities in Stamford, New Haven, Woodbury, Danbury, Hartford, Eastern Connecticut, Westport, and Providence, Rhode Island and Springfield, Massachusetts. The visit culminated with the steering committee meeting in Providence on Sunday, November 14. The SNEC Communities received the delegation with open arms. Deborah E. Swartz, the new SNEC coordinator, was glad to finally meet her counterparts in Israel and looks forward to a long and productive relationship.

This year we have two young emissaries from Israel volunteering in SNEC--Nadav Katz and Shani Kabra. They are being hosted by the Westport-Weston-Wilton-Norwalk Jewish Federation. Shani and Nadav are working in Hebrew schools, senior centers, and speaking about Israel throughout the community.
