Governor John Rowland of Connecticut headed a trade mission to Israel June 15-20. As part of his trip, the governor spent the afternoon of June 18 in Afula-Gilboa. The Israeli air conditioning manufacturer Tadiran, located in the region, hosted the governor's group at a gala reception attended by mayors Danny Atar and Tzadok Nawi, and other officials.
This mission provided an exciting chance to show the governor and the Connecticut business leaders who accompanied him the many economic opportunities that exist and that can be developed in Afula-Gilboa. SNEC co-chair Beryl Weinstein, CONNIX's Sandra Elias, and Bob Fishman traveled with the governor on this mission.
