During the month of March, Afula-Gilboa hosted a group of 8th graders from the Bi-Cultural Day School (Orthodox) of Stamford, CT. Approximately 45 students joined with 45 students from the Bnei Yehuda School in Afula for a morning of various activities. Approximately half of the Afula students were Ethiopian immigrants. The mifgash was held at the outdoor swimming pool in Afula and included various activities such as getting acquainted games, sports, short study sessions, and group building activities. Approximately 15 volunteers from the Israeli scout movement, Bnei Akiva, and Sherut Leumi girls in the area helped facilitate the morning. The program was fun and exciting, and the Bi-Cultural Day School and Bnei Yehuda students parted following spontaneous exchanges of addresses.
