During the first week in July, nine students arrived in the Afula-Gilboa area to participate in a two-week intensive ulpan at the Emek Yizreel College. This Ulpan was initiated by Professor Freund, Director, Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies, at the University of Hartford in conjunction with a project for archeological excavations at Bethsaida in Israel (near Lake Kinneret). The students felt that the studying at the Ulpan and living in the area was a very positive experience.
