The Afula/Gilboa region prepares to welcome a group of 8 Westport, CT educators and staff who will visit the region for ten days, beginning on March 31st. These educators take part in the Teachers Exchange/Curriculum Development Project.
They will participate in a week-long workshop where they will work with their Afula/Gilboa counterparts on writing curriculum units which they will teach in their respective classes. In addition to the writing sessions, the educators will tour the region and its surrounding areas, as well as celebrate the holiday and the Mimouna with their Israeli hosts. The American guests will visit local schools and meet the classes with which they are partnered.
The Wesport educators' visit is the second encounter between the American and Israeli teachers. The first encounter took place in July 2001, when 8 teachers from the Afula/Gilboa region spent 10 days in Westport, CT as part of this unique program.
