Visiting the numerous courses which are offered by the Community Centers in Afula within the framework of the M'Oleh L'Kolet project was inspiring. Immigrants who have been in Israel from a couple of months to a couple of years are committed to learning skills which will help them in building their new lives in Israel. Immigrants FSU who barely speak fluent Hebrew are already busy learning computer skills, English and of course Hebrew. Immigrants from Ethiopia are attending classes for Hebrew and computers and parenting workshops.
One of the activities initiated under this program is particularly loved -- from Tanach to Palmach. This program organizes periodic day trips to historical sites in Israel, offering immigrants a chance to learn more about Eretz Israel of yesterday and of today.
