Mayor Danny Atar explains security situation

A delegation of Chiefs of Staff of Congressional Representatives, mostly from New York City and New York State visited in the Gilboa for a fact finding mission about the fence, the Seam Line and Co-existence between Jews and Arabs in the Gilboa region.

The mission was organized by The Jewish Community Relations Council and the UJA - Federation of New York. The visit was extremely successful. The participants traveled on the Seam Line in Jeeps, heard Danny Atar explain at length the security situation, the Fence, The history of cooperation between Gilboa and Jenin before the current wave of violence erupted, and the hopes for a return to good relations in the future. The participants had lunch with Arab and Jewish residents of the Gilboa who discussed the co-existence in the Gilboa region and told about the school co-existence program and the Bible-Koran Quiz .
