For the last 14 years, the Adisia project has been run by WIZO, the largest women's organization in the world.
The project has gone though many changes together with the women of the Ethiopian community and was in danger of being closed down a number of times.
Today, the project is being run under the auspices of the WIZO Community Center in Afula with the participation of twenty women.
Some of the women have large families and some are single mothers.
The women enjoy empowerment workshops, and are developing their artistic skills especially in traditional embroidery.
On Independence Day the "Adisia" women were awarded prize money and a certificate from the Afula Municipality, commending their contribution to the promotion of ethnic art in Afula.
The money will be used for the women's welfare.
