A Decade of Partnership

This week the members of the Afula-Gilboa Partnership 2000 Steering Committee all gathered together in the home of Ivonne and Asher Ben on Moshav Devora.

Partnership 2000 is a partnership of the Israeli communities of Afula and the Gilboa Regional Council with 12 Jewish communities on the east coast of the United States in the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts. These communities came together to reinforce the connection between Israeli and Diaspora Jewry and for the benefit of their respective residents.

The Steering Committee members are all residents of the region who truly care about its development and progress, and all work on a volunteer basis for the community. Just one month ago, Dr. Yehudit Antonelli  completed her term as Steering Committee Chairwoman, after having worked enthusiastically and diligently for several years in this capacity. Her motivation and grace were legendary, and she has now turned over the reins to the very capable hands of Ivonne Ben, Director of the Therapeutic Horse Riding Center at Nir Ha'emek. Ivonne has promised to do her best to properly and successfully fulfill this most important and exciting role.

Since many steering committee members are new, Ivonne decided to hold a 'consolidation' and get-acquainted evening , and together with Yehudit organized a wonderful and entertaining evening in Ivonne's backyard. The first part saw all the guests enjoying the delicious food and delicacies that were served, followed by a special social workshop voluntarily led by Gedalia Reikin, founder and moderator for "The Association for the Advancement of  Charm in the World" .

This activity brought smiles to everyone and was exceptionally enjoyable, with everyone ultimately believing how much better the world could be if only people were
more charming and graceful to one another.

This was a refreshing opening to a new season of activities and all are hopeful that this wonderful evening will serve as a good sign for fruitful, productive and successful work for one and all.
