As part of our constant efforts to improve, we decided to conduct a meeting with another Partnership in order to share experiences and information. We invited the Hof Ashkelon Kiryat Malachi steering committee which is partnered with Jewish communities in western United States.
We wanted to learn about the way they come to decisions, work together with their American peers and hear about the programs they support. 20 people from both sides participated including lay and professionals. Representatives from both groups explained the structure and by –laws of their partnership and gave a presentation on one leading program. We then spoke about the importance of evaluating programs and raised dilemmas and problems we face (which were very similar in both partnerships).
Dinner was served and friendships were made. All participants agreed that this was a very important meeting which we all learned a lot from and agreed to meet again soon.
