Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky Presents Award to Arad-Tamar - New Jersey–Delaware Eco Connection Project
6.7.2010

The "Partnership Award of Excellence" was presented at the 4th Annual Partnership 2000 Conference in Jerusalem, "Jewish Peoplehood Every Day Around the World", held in conjunction with the Jewish Peoplehood Hub.

Eco-Connection creates a meaningful ongoing connection between Jews in Israel and the Diaspora surrounding the topic of ecology and Judaism. Eco Connection is in 12 schools in New Jersey, Delaware, Arad and Tamar connecting some 400 children.  Together, they are learning about ecology and the environment in a Jewish context and getting to know one another through blogging, Skype and creative joint projects. Sviva Israel is creating a 3D virtual Eco Campus with avatars, virtual schools and environmental educational departments for students to share videos and other resources, as well as bring more schools on board.
