As is always the case with Partnership 2000, this coming summer we anticipate lively two-way traffic over the ocean as hundreds of youth and young people take part in Living Bridge or people-to-people activities, expanding the circles of interpersonal friendships and intensifying the relationship between the communities in Israel and Montreal. So what's in store?
Young leadership
Representatives from the Partnership 2000 Young Leadership group are expected to attend a Young Leadership conference in Toronto and spend several days visiting the Montreal community.
Mahanayim
A delegation of young people aged 18-22 serving as counselors in various summer camps operating around Montreal, will come to the region for a week. A group of community service youngsters from "Acharai" will host them for the week. In the mornings they will conduct various voluntary activities and in the afternoons and evenings there will be social activities and trips around the region.
Kefiyada
This activity is being operated through the Partnership for the third year. This is a young leadership group operated by the Jewish Federation in Montreal for young adults aged 18-24. The group will arrive at the beginning of July and will stay in the region for three weeks. In the mornings the participants will work as counselors at the "Kivunim" day camps, and in the afternoons the group will lead a special project for participants in the "Youth Futures" project - a dolls project. The Israeli group hosting the visitors will consist of former "Acharai" members.
Dorot
The Dorot group consists of children who have finished 9th grade in Montreal's Jewish schools, such as the Bialik and Herzliya schools. They will be hosted in the region for three days as part of a 6-week program of touring around the country. The hosts will be Living Bridge trustees from schools in the region who, together with the children from Montreal, will participate in volunteer activities and visits in the region.
