Eleven preschool directors accompanied by Nachama Moskowitz from the Jewish Education Center and Dr. Lifsa Schachter of the Siegal College of Judaic Studies shared experiences with and learned from preschool directors in the Beit Shean region. Entitled "On Eagles' Wings, Cleveland's Jewish Early Childhood Directors' Journey," the one-week seminar was supported by the Fund for the Jewish Future of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland and coordinated through the Mandel Leadership Institute. Educators in Beit Shean formed the primary resources for the exploration of educational practice in culture and context and its effects on the transmission or transformation of society. The three day visit, part of the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000 program, concluded with a tree planting ceremony at the Art Naparstek memorial garden. Naparstek was the first Cleveland chair of the Beit Shean - Cleveland Partnership, and introduced the "community building" concept to the Partnership.
