The Beit Shemesh and Mateh Yehudah Volunteer Center is a newly founded Organization, our main goal is to Encourag volunteer activities in Beit Shemesh and Matte Yehuda.
The Center is in the process of collecting information on all the volunteer opportunities in Beit-Shemesh and the surrounding area, and plans to identify potential volunteers and match them to these positions.
Achievements
Since the summer of 2000, "Lamitnadev, Beit Shemesh - Matte Yehuda" has been registered as an Amutah (non-profit organization) in the Registry of Amutot, and has received tax exempt status as a non-profit organization.
There is an active management committee, a coordintor and regular meetings every three weeks.
We set up an office jointly with the Scheiber School, and received office equipment to begin operations: new phone line, frontiers, computer and a printer (thanks to Raziel Mamet from Partnership 2000).
The activities since then include:

Mobilize businesses to the good of the community, build an internet site in Hebrew and in English, which will encourage volunteerism through describing projects in the community.
Develop the "Lamitnadev Room" and activities. During the day the room will be used for English teaching together with the Scheiber School, and in the afternoons and evenings it will be used for Partnership 2000 activities with a display of projects and relevant information, including teaching English and computers to those who need it.
