On December 16th, 16 headmasters and teachers, some of them heads of departments, will be arriving to participate in a two week seminar, arranged by P2K in the Beit Shemesh/Adulam region. This will be the first stage of a three year project - next year, Israeli teachers will be sent to SA for a month to teach Hebrew both at schools and to adults in the evenings. During the third year, the two countries will do a project, running parrallely on a subject to be decided on by the teachers.
The teachers will be accomodated at Kibbutz Tzora, which has a Hechsher, and will spend the one Shabbat with the Beit Shemesh/Adulam teachers. They will participate in lectures, seminars, workshops, tiyulim to Jerusalem and a two day tiyul to the South to visit a special school in Mitzpe Ramon. The programme is being prepared in close cooperation with the Department of Jewish Education of the Jewish Agency, the Directors of the departments of Education of the Municipality of Beit Shemesh and Mateh Yehuda and a team of experts.
