In October, the Beit Shemesh-Yehuda Plains-Washington-South Africa Partnership 2000 of the Jewish Agency sent an exhibition to Washington of pictures taken by photographers in the Region.
The exhibition consisted of the pictures of amateur photographers, primarily from the Beit Shemesh-Yehuda Plains Region and from Washington.
In creating the exhibition, photographers from the Region were asked to submit their candidacy and to send their photos to the exhibition.
After some difficult deliberations, about 25 photos were selected to be sent to Washington.
The exhibition took place at the Jewish Community Center in North Virginia. All the photos were enlarged and framed and hung on the wall together with a short biography of each photographer.
The festive opening of the exhibition took place on October 9th. It also included photos chosen by the community in North Virginia.
Attending the opening of the exhibition were Daniel Vakhnin, the Mayor of Beit Shemesh and Meir Malka, who is responsible for foreign liaisons at the Beit Shemesh Municipality, and a representative of Partnership 2000 who were touring the area at the time.
The Partnership wishes to thank and congratulate the photographers who were chosen to represent the Region in the Partnership community of Washington: Aryeh O'Sullivan, Yulanda Turgeman, Zeev Gross, Sara Weinberg and Naphtali Hilgar.
