Hundreds of participants ran on a wintry day in the first annual Vineyard race, which was organized by the Mateh Yehuda Regional councils department of sports, in cooperation of P2K Beit Shemesh - Mateh Yehuda - Washington - South Africa of the Jewish agency.
Head of council - Mr. Moshe Dadon sent up the race and promised to make it an annual event in the region. He thanked the organizers and Partnership 2000, the main sponsors of the event.
The race was decided in to three levels: 18 Km, 5Km in which participated Gideon Vennor partnership 2000 director and 3 Km.
In the race participated runners from all over Israel, Including residents of the Mateh Yehuda Region and employees of the region's council of which stood out Shimon Buskila, security officer of the council.
In the 3Km folk race participated over 100 girls and boys of the Village Ein Nakuba that ran with hats and T-shirts of the road safety authority, that sponsored the folk heat.
The Vineyard race was a part of the regions Wine Festival, at the finish line, trophies, Medals and of course bottles of wine where handed out to the winners.
Towards the end of the race poring rain started to come down and soaked the participants that returned home wet but pleased and in expectation for the second annual Vineyard race on the 8th of October 2010.
