Partnership 2000 Supports Wineries Race
24.10.2010
By Herzl Amateur, director of the Sports Department at the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council

This is an annual race held for the second time in Mateh Yehuda.

This year, one of the race supporters was Partnership 2000 Beit Shemesh - Mateh Yehuda - Washington - South Africa of the Jewish Agency.

As Part of the "Israel 15" project, the Partnership sees fit to support the initiatives of "balanced life".

450 runners took part in the race this year, including residents of villages in Yehuda, such as Ein Rafa, Nachshon, Tal Shahar, Tzur Hadassah, Aviezer, Shoeva and more.

Starting out at the detention camp Latrun passing between Carmi Ayalon through Nachshon Winery and Restaurant Carmi Ayalon where hundreds of residents and children encouraged the runners and gave them water all along the last track also at Clos de Gat winery of Harel Latrun.

The route is about 18 km. Another course was held with a 5 km track & short track of 3 km.

The Ambassador of Lithuania participated in the race, Darius Edgotts (pictured). He really enjoyed it, praised the runners and noted the development of sport in the country. He also specified the quality of the wine & suggested wine be given out along the route of wine instead of water!

The atmosphere was great and the organization as well.
