A group of  11 young members came from the Dror Habonim movement of South Africa, to live and volunteer in Beit Shemesh, as part of Partnership2Gether's activities. They live in an apartment in the Mishlat neighborhood and volunteer at the Branco Weiss high School, and are helping with English lessons for three months. Partnership2Gether organized a series of trips for them in order to help them familiarize themselves with the area. The first trip took place last week and included a visit to the Max Brenner chocolate plant in the western industrial area, where they heard about the chocolate production process. Later they went to see Shuki in Ajur and they learned about Partnership2Gether's connection with the Wine Way. They ended the tour with a visit to the Kakado Gallery in Tzafririm and they all left with something they made themselves.

The group is happy to be here. They spent some time at the Foreign Youth Leaders' Institute in Jerusalem, and some time on a kibbutz. Another trip has been scheduled for the group for the end of October. It includes a bicycle trip, a cookery workshop with an ethnic chef and a game of soccer together with girls from Ein Rafa and Ein Kerem, as part of the activities of the Peres Center for Peace. This year the program is being funded by Partnership2Gether.
