The Pittsburgh Federation (a partner in Jewish Agency "Partnership 2000") runs a special campaign for Israel. Karen Shapira, former president of Pittsburgh federation and Edgar Sneider, an attorney and TV broadcaster from Pittsburgh were elected as chairs for this campaign.

The campaign, "Israel Now and Forever" is planned to raise funds for increasing schools security, counseling groups and support to terror victims.

Edgar Sneider visited the Karmiel-Misgav region on Jan. 8, 2002.

Mr. Sneider met with Hanna Koval, city administrator of Karmiel, who presented the current situation in the area. Ms. Koval accompanied Mr. Sneider in his visit to schools, which are planned to benefit from the additional security budget and at the employment club for Ethiopian immigrants, funded by the Pittsburgh federation.

Mr. Sneider also visited several of Migav's settlements and met with Erez Kreisler, Mayor of Misgav Regional Council. They discussed the security situation in the region since October 2000. In the afternoon, Mr. Sneider met with Sheila Zetler, Chair of Women's Forum of "Partnership 2000".
